Celebrity Gogglebox stars in tears over 'traumatising' dog incident on The Supervet

Ruth Langsord, Zoe Ball and Judge Rinder were among the Celebrity Gogglebox line-up left weeping over sad scenes on the show on Friday.

An episode of The Supervet introduced the stars and viewers to an adorable dog named Murphy who was brought in to the surgery in a bad way.

He'd been attacked by another dog in a park, and most of his bottom jaw had been damaged and was hanging off his face.

With severe muscle and bone damage, Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick told Murphy's owner that the options were to put him to sleep or to try and save his jaw.

As they showed graphic images of the injuries, those watching at home and on the show were horrified.

Zoe Ball and her son Woody struggled to watch, with him almost in tears over the "sad" story.

She herself called it "traumatic" as she hugged her son, while other celebrities also struggled to watch.

Many of them began begging for Murphy to be okay, and for Noel to try and save his life.

Judge Rinder star Robert Rinder was also teary, as he hugged his own pooch Rocco for comfort.

They decided to try and fix the broken and torn jaw, using pins and other structural surgery tools to try and get it to heal.

Later on, viewers saw Murphy brought back to the surgery so that they could see if he was making a good recovery.
