Celebrity Gogglebox's Denise van Outen reveals she has 'no hard feelings' for Eddie Boxshall after 'affair'

West End star Denise Van Outen has revealed that she 'wasn't in a good place' after her split from former fiancé Eddie Boxshall. After seven years of romance, the flame between the couple went out a few months ago, with Denise confirming their split in January on Instagram.

Denise, who is 47, appeared on ITV breakfast show Lorraine on Thursday morning (March 17). During her time on the programme, the actress admitted she has 'no hard feelings' towards her ex-partner.

After Lorraine asked if she was okay after the break up, Denise said: "I'm alright. Do you know what? I'm feeling really good now because I wasn't in a great place.

"It was all a bit of a shock but these things happen. I'm not the first person it's happened to and I won't be the last, sadly.

"But it's life isn't it, Lorraine, and you just have to get on with it, you know. There's no hard feelings on my side, it's happened and you just accept it and I can't change what's happened so I just have to accept what my future is going to be now, and that's just moving forward."

Essex-born Denise has just written an autobiography, 'A Bit of Me: From Basildon to Broadway and Back', in which she reveals how she broke up with her husband-to-be after discovering he was cheating, according to the Daily Mail. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant found out that her partner had allegedly been flirting sexually with three women behind her back, which she called 'disrespectful and devastatingly hurtful'.

The 47-year-old said she discovered pictures and Instagram messages on Eddie's iPad. She said: "Among photos was a screenshot… of a woman’s breasts – and they definitely weren’t mine! Also, there was a flirty text exchange between Eddie and this woman, which, of course, set off alarm bells."

Denise said that the exchange happened in the week she had booked a holiday in Spain. The Masked Singer star added: "Eddie decided not to come to Spain because he didn’t feel well. While sympathetic, I was slightly confused about why he couldn’t chill with me beside the pool but could still manage to go to the pub."

After discovering these pictures, Denise said she found selfies of Eddie with a woman in a bar. The photographs were allegedly taken on the day he had told Denise he was working in London.

Denise looked at the outline of the woman's chest in the first photograph she found, and realised it was not the same woman that Eddie had met up with at a bar. She also found messages Eddie had sent to a woman called Tracy, which she claims were sexually explicit in nature.

The Celebrity Gogglebox star then said she decided to take the plunge and confront Eddie about his actions, which he denied. She then told him to leave.

Denise, who confessed she 'cried her heart out' to her mum, said: "The thing I battled with most was that it wasn’t just one person, one mistake or drunken night. This was something that had gone on for more than three years. I felt betrayed.

"I was in pain and shock. I’d thought we had the perfect life. Any relationship has to be built on trust and once that’s gone, there’s no way forward."

"If I hadn’t found those pictures, I’d be planning a wedding right now. Instead, I’ve simply got to move on."
