Celebrity Gogglebox repeat George Galloway's CBB 'cat' moment leaving viewers scarred

Scarred Celebrity Gogglebox viewers claimed they could have done with prior warning on Friday night after the show repeated George Galloway's notorious 'would you like me to be the cat?' moment from Celebrity Big Brother.

After the latest run of Gogglebox's successful celebrity spin-off came to an end last week, Channel 4 repeated an episode from last year which saw the likes of Love Island host Laura Whitmore, Happy Mondays legend Shaun Ryder and Rylan Clark-Neal react to everything from Grease to classic Stephen King horror Misery.

Speaking of horrors, one of the other things the celebrities and mortified viewers at home were subjected to was Galloway's skin crawling moment from CBB 2006, when, for no reason at all he started pretending to be a cat.

The infamous moment, which aired last year as part of a Celebrity Big Brother best of show on E4, saw the outspoken politician partake in some completely baffling role play with Coronation Street actress Rula Lenska.

The bizarre scene, which saw Galloway ask Lenska "would you like me to be the cat?" before she pretended to offer him milk and wipe his 'whiskers,' wasn't part of a task or any kind of challenge, making it all the more horrifying to watch.

And on seeing it again on Friday night's Celebrity Gogglebox, viewers were left sick to their stomachs.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer posted: "Averting my eyes, #CelebrityGogglebox is showing the George Galloway cat episode of Celebrity Big Brother. I've never been able to watch it."

Echoing the same sentiments, another tweeted: "Why has no-one destroyed the tape of Galloway "being the cat?" and a third posted: "George Galloway’s cat bit on Celeb Big Brother is as awful seeing it now as it was when it originally aired"

Thankfully there was some light relief elsewhere in the episode to take fans' minds off Galloway's feline faux pas as the cast reacted with delight to an airing of Summer Nights from Grease, with comedian Mo Gilligan remarking: "....and that was just lunchtime!"
