Viewers of Celebrity Gogglebox were stunned on Friday evening when pop star Anne-Marie shouted ‘who the f*** is that?’ after Bonnie Langford was unmasked as Squirrel on the Masked Dancer.
The surprising outburst happened during this Friday’s episode, as Langford removed the squirrel mask she pointed at the screen and shouted her question at Tom Jones.
Jones, surprised, looked back at Anne-Marie and replied: “That’s Bonnie Langford.”
Anne-Marie was completely taken aback by the revelation after watching the anonymous dancer Squirrel performing some impressive moves.
As the tension built before the mask was removed, she said it was ‘definitely someone from the Pussycat Dolls ’, but was extremely surprised when she found out the truth.
Fans of Gogglebox meanwhile were stunned into disbelief that Anne-Marie had not recognised Langford, who has performed in TV shows from EastEnders to Doctor Who, as well as performing as a singer.
One lamented: “#CelebrityGogglebox cheating us out of seeing Sir Tom Jones explain to Anne-Marie who Bonnie Langford is **shakes head**”.
Another questioned her, asking: “How come you don’t know who Bonnie Langford is?”
A third was far more direct, saying: “How the hell does Ann Marie not know who Bonnie Langford is? Has she lived in a cave?”
Bonnie wowed judges and the audience with her impressive moves, with her abilities leading many to think it was a much younger celeb under the squirrel mask.
The Masked Dancer has become a very popular show, in which masked celebrities show off their dance moves to a panel of judges.
Contestants often surprise judges with their fantastic dance moves.
Bonnie too seems to have thoroughly enjoyed her stint on the show, telling The Sun that she ‘channelled Maisie Smith’ on the show due to loving their attitude.
