Celebrity fan makes brave Chelsea v Nottingham Forest prediction - then has dig at Derby County too

England cricketer and Nottingham Forest fan Stuart Broad has made a prediction for next month’s FA Cup third round clash against Chelsea.

The Reds take on the Blues at Stamford Bridge in the third round of the competition, with the tie due to be played across the weekend of Friday January 3 to Monday January 6, 2020.

This is not the first time that Forest will have taken on Chelsea in a cup competition, with the Reds taking on the Blues at the same stage of the competition last season. A brace from Alvaro Morata sealed a 2-0 win for the Blues.

The two sides also met in the third round of the League Cup in September 2017, losing 5-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Nottinghamshire fast bowler Broad was in the away end for Forest’s trip to Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup last season, and he has already made a prediction of how he think this season’s tie will play out.

In reply to a tweet from golfer and Chelsea fan Justin Rose, Broad said he thinks one Forest player in particular will be key to the Reds progressing to the fourth round.

Broad also referenced Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, with a small dig at his former club and Forest's arch rivals Derby County.

“A 93rd minute winning wonder strike from @JLolley23 & then Super Frank admitting Forest are his favourite team in the East Midlands,” said Broad.
