Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White is opening a restaurant in Bredbury

Marco Pierre White is opening a restaurant inside Bredbury Hall Hotel this summer.

The celebrity chef's Black and White Hospitality group will open a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill at the Stockport venue towards the end of July.

Adding to a list of more than 20 branches across the UK, the franchise will serve a menu revolving around steaks, burgers and comfort food staples such as pies, fish and chips and macaroni cheese.

The steakhouse will take over the main Goyt Valley restaurant at the hotel as part of a major refurbishment of the venue. The Brasserie and Artisan Indian Kitchen will remain open alongside it.

Owner Golam Sarwar, who took over the hotel in 2015, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to have someone of Marco’s calibre open one of his steakhouse restaurants at the Bredbury Hall Hotel.

"It clearly demonstrates our commitment to continually bring the best to the venue and we can’t wait for the summer."

"Food prices are low, but so is the quality": The Produce Hall, Stockport, reviewed

Mathew Griffin, managing director of Assured Hotels, which manages the hotel day-to-day, added: " For Marco one of the most important aspects of any restaurant is the welcome on arrival, the environment customers sit in and the service that they’re given so we’ll make sure the new restaurant will reflect that. It’s not stuffy or pretentious, just good food served in a great environment."

Leeds-born chef and restaurateur Marco earned three Michelin stars during his culinary career and a reputation as the enfant terrible of British cooking.

Today he has more than 40 restaurants to his name under brands including Mr White's English Chophouse, which has a site on Manchester's Canal Street; and Marco's New York Italian, which has a branch at MediaCityUK, Salford Quays.
