Celebrity Catchphrase viewers furious over ridiculous 'sea horse' answer

Celebrity Catchphrase viewers were fuming at the answer to one of the questions in Sunday's show.

Stephen Mulhern hosted the special edition of the show, with professional boxer Tony Bellew, singer and fashion designer Kelly Osbourne, and BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker playing along.

Contestants guess the familiar phrases hidden in animated video clues, scoring points to raise money for their chosen charity.

But one of the questions had an answer which viewers were incredulous about, as they were convinced it wasn't a catchphrase at all.

The clue showed a horse sailing a ship - and contestants struggled for several rounds to try to guess the catchphrase behind it.

Dan finally realised that the answer was "sea horse".

Twitter was alight with viewers ranting about the animal being called a catchphrase.

"Seahorse is a creature not a f*****g catchphrase. What next?", questioned one.

"Sea Horse? #wtf Should be ‘riding the ocean waves’" said another.

"Seahorse=a catchphrase?!", wrote a third.

A fourth ranted: "Watching #celebritycatchphrase on @ITV since when has “Seahorse” been a #catchphrase ".

Boxer Tony was great at the game, which surprised some viewers as his job involved being punched in the head most days, while Dan struggled to begin with.

"Tony breaks the stereotype and comes across as a bright lad whereas @mrdanwalker however... #catchphrase ", wrote one viewer.

"Can’t believe that the smartest one on here is the one who was regularly punched in the head", joked another.

Dan Walker won £14,500 for his chosen charity, Taste, which helps to provide safe drinking water in Nigeria.
