Celebrity Big Brother's Roxanne Pallett makes TV return on Jeremy Vine show but viewers aren't happy

She became public enemy number 1 last year after making false allegations of assault against Ryan Thomas in the Celebrity Big Brother house and Roxanne Pallett made a shock return to TV screens on Friday, much to the anger of many viewers.

Emmerdale actress Roxanne ended up walking from the Channel 5 show last year after hearing "Get Roxy out!" chants from the CBB eviction crowd, who had been left incensed by her lies about former Coronation Street actor Ryan.

In her exit interview, Roxanne, who also appeared on Waterloo Road and Dancing on Ice, admitted she had got the situation "massively wrong".

She added "I'm the most hated girl in Britain right now, it's a lot to deal with," she said. "It's the title I feel everyone has given me at the moment.

"All I can do is own it, accept it and apologise."

Well 12 months on from the controversy, the 37 year old was back on TV on Friday to appear on The Jeremy Vine Show as you can see in the video above.

Reflecting on her behaviour on Celebrity Big Brother, she said "It's awful. It was a really awful time, I hurt a lot of people and it's only now when I watch things back that I realise how far I've come and what a bad place I was in."

Roxanne went onto say she had "educated" herself over the past year, adding "I never want to be that person again. I never want to react to a situation like that.

"If I can do anything now it's to make sure anyone else out there doesn't make the same mistakes."

As you can imagine Roxanne's shock return to TV sparked plenty of reaction on social media.

Someone ranted "Very disappointed that jeremy vine has Roxanne Pallett on the panel today.

Horrible, calculating b****!

"Is it ok to forgive someone who purposefully took it upon herself to ruin a persons life for a shot at Fame..?? Nah! F*** right off!!!"

And another angry viewer reacted "Why is #RoxannePallett getting airtime? Her career died and needs to stay dead. She maliciously tried to ruin a mans life."

And a third posted "Waking up to the obnoxious Roxanne Pallett trying to prize her way back into TV after accusing Ryan of assault on Big Brother. No thank you! I don't want to see this person on TV."

Offering a different view, ex-Celebrity Big Brother contestant India Willoughby tweeted "We all make terrible errors of judgement in life, but we also - hopefully - move on. Wish Roxanne well."
