Celebrity Big Brother's Lauren Harries put into induced coma after seizure as family ask fans for prayers

Lauren Harries has been put into an induced coma after she underwent brain surgery recently.

As we previously reported, the Celebrity Big Brother star, 45, was rushed to hospital in April, and her mum, Katy, has been keeping fans updated on her progress as she continues to recover from her mystery illness.

Now an update on social media has revealed Lauren's latest health battle as she bids to get back to full health, as writes the Mirror.

Lauren has had a seizure following the gruelling operation and she's now been put into an induced coma to help her get back to full health, they said.

The post read: "Last night Lauren had a seizure and doctors have had to put her into an induced coma to get it under control.

"Lauren needs all your support and wishes, she loves you all."

Fans rushed to send their messages of support to Katy as one said: "Sending lots of Hope and Love."

Just days ago Lauren, who starred in Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, had posted to social media to tell fans she was experiencing her "worst nightmare" and she said she'd had to shave her hair off. After coming round from her operation, Lauren posted a photo of herself in her hospital bed, alongside her mum, with her bandage removed.

The reality TV personality said she was was resting and undergoing physiotherapy to 'get her strength back'. She was first admitted to hospital on April 14 and she's said she "nearly died" as a result of her illness, but what's actually wrong with Lauren is not public knowledge.

"Nearly dying makes you appreciate every moment. So enjoy the sunshine and know that I love you. Light, love and peace," she told fans.

In another recent update, Katy pleaded to her Twitter followers for help, writing: "Please help: Lauren has had a number of blackouts after which the right side of her face droops. "This is incredibly scary for Lauren and us. She also has a consistent headache.

"Drs haven't been able to explain what is causing these. Have you or someone you know been through this? Any ideas or help you could give will be so helpful.

"The NHS saved Lauren but they can't find any answers for this and it is so scary when it happens. It happened again yesterday. Please help find out what's causing these!"

Fans first became aware of Lauren's health battle when a tweet was issued from Lauren's mum from her Twitter page in April, which read: "Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren @LaurenHarries. Who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today."

Just three days before, Lauren had tweeted on her own profile to give a candid insight into her transition journey.

She said: "22 years ago I had no outside influences telling me to become a woman, I just knew I was.

"I searched for help. My doctor couldn't help me, trans people were an enigma.

"So to worried parents I suggest that one cannot be sold into having these life changing expensive operations."

Lauren found fame as an antiques expert at the age of 12 as she appeared on the Antiques Roadshow and Wogan. She underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2003.

Lauren is best known for her stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, where she finished in third place and has also appeared on Celebrity Juice and Naked Attraction, where she became the first ever celebrity to appear on the Channel 4 dating show.
