Clearly, following last year's race row, the England batsman's always-enchanting observations on positive discrimination in post-apartheid South Africa would make him an excellent ambassador for the show.
And yet, should the Daily Star believe that Kevin Pietersen will not be selected for England's tour of New Zealand - where they will arrive in late January - or indeed that he will reject the call-up a place in favour of arguing about stock cubes with other rumoured contestants such as erstwhile Corrie star Chris Quinten, then they are advised that either is a far, far better story than the one they published.
