Celebrity A-Level results - from unexpected acting geniuses and TV star flops

Not all celebrities have got through school scot free, there are some examples who have had quite the struggle and some surprise boffins who shocked with their grades. .

In all walks of celebrity life there are those who have faltered when it comes to A-Levels but they have still managed to get to the top of their game without those results holding them back.

While others managed to soar through them to get A's and A*'s from their exams.

So we have decided to look into those celebrities from those who have faltered with U's and E's to those who have shocked us all with the highest grades. .

Tom Daley

First on the list is the Olympic icon that is Tom Daley who has been at the top of his game in the Diving world for over a decade.

However, out the pool as well Tom is a hard worker as he has shone through school to get some pretty high scoring grades.

Tom earned an A* in his Photography A-Level with As in Spanish and Maths, not only that though as he found out his grades after getting an Olympic Bronze at London 2012.

Jeremey Clarkson

For those of us with a Twitter account, it will come as no surprise to hear that Jeremy Clarkson failed his A-Levels as the man himself likes to reveal that around this time of year.

At school, the sports car fiend turned frantic farmer earned himself a C and two U's in his A-Level exams and he now likes to make students know that these exams don't define you or what you can become.

To some that might be comforting so we await that tweet this time round.

Emma Watson

Despite being a star in one of the biggest film series of all time, Emma Watson still managed to gain excellent exam results at school.

Back in 2008 the wizz that is Hermionie Granger gained straight As in English Literature, Geography and Art before studying at Brown University stateside.

Jake Humphrey

Before becoming a regular in the sports broadcasting scene, Jake Humphrey actually failed all of his A-Level exams earning himself an E a U and an N back in 1999.

However, he has never let that stop him and has managed to earn a spot in some pretty nifty sports TV deals since.

Jon Snow

Jon Snow got one A-level (CHANNEL 4)

Iconic former Channel 4 journalist Jon Snow got to the top of his game in the news and media world but actually did not end up doing so well at school.

He came away with just one A-Level in English Language as he scraped a C but ended up failing Geography and Biology completely.

The journalist described himself as a "dunderhead" in an interview for the Evening Standard and said he was amazed he even managed one A-Level.

Russell Brand

Comedian, actor and presenter Russell Brand was no success at school achieving zero A-Levels.

The man himself does not think that has held him back too much as he has toured all over the world and appeared in Holywood films.

He once said that "it was all Rhubarb" when tweeting about how important these exams are so it's no guessing what he makes of them.

Clare Balding

The famed sports broadcaster who is often seen at Wimbledon or Royal Ascot had quite the journey to the top of her profession.

In her A-Levels she did not get great results and ended up failing History and Latin, but she took two years out after school to retake the exams and perfect her interview technique which later landed her a spot at the prestigious Cambridge University.

Deborah Meaden

The Dragon's Den legend is all the proof you need that A-Levels are not the be all and end all of your future life.

The business tycoon left school without any of these under her belt and it would be a struggle to see how that has held her back over the years.

She now runs her own business empire and is an investor in many different projects.

Simon Cowell

The formidable judge and long-time music producer and manager did not breeze trough school and get the X Factor with his grades.

He only managed to get three O-Levels which were the pre-GCSE qualifications.

However, that did not stop him as he has still gone on to have quite the incredible career earning vast amounts of money.
