Celebrating West Lothian's lockdown local heroes

The Covid crisis might have tested us to our limits over the last 12 months, but it has also brought out the best in us.

When the reality of life in lockdown sunk in, many people in West Lothian did everything they could to help each other weather the storm.

Some helped their elderly neighbours by picking up shopping for them, others made sure the poorest people had a meal on their table and many just wanted to put a smile on our faces and brighten up an otherwise dark time.

Anne Wilson (left), also known as the Sunday Dinner Lady, along with pals Mo, Tricia, Jude and Martha delivered over 100 Christmas dinner bags to families who are struggling across West Lothian (west lothian courier)

Each week the Courier was delighted to bring readers inspirational stories of volunteers who were helping to make a real difference in their community.

Natalie McCrimmon wanted to raise money for mental health charity Mind which had helped people in lockdown and so held a ‘gunge walk’ around the Blackridge, inspired by the charity’s Messy4Mind events (west lothian courier)

There really were too many to mention, so here are just a few of our lockdown local heroes.
