From 7 to 13 September, Comment is Free is running a series of articles about Africa, moving away from the usual media scrutiny on extreme events and focusing instead on daily life.
Spanning north to south there are over one billion people living in Africa’s 55 countries, and the diverseness of the continent is highlighted by the thousands of languages spoken and myriad ethnicities represented.
If you live in an African country, have memories of visiting one or are part of the African diaspora anywhere in the world, we’d like you to share your photos, videos and stories. Document your daily life in African countries by sharing images of your home, your work or your family life. We’re interested in hearing alternative views of Africa that may surprise or interest our readers, and will feature the best of them on our site.
You can share your Africa pictures, videos and stories by clicking on the ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the GuardianWitness smartphone app or the Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’.
- GuardianWitness is the home of readers’ content on the Guardian. Contribute your video, pictures and stories, and browse news, reviews and creations submitted by others. Posts will be reviewed prior to publication on GuardianWitness, and the best pieces will feature on the Guardian site.
