This Sunday, three business owners are working together to create and celebrate International Women's Day. Florist Rachael Cullen from Botanica Bird, positive sexuality professional Abby Herrick from Pleasure and Peach and photographer Zoe Lonergan are collaborating to raise funds for the not-for-profit Dress for Success.
The three will offer portraits (must be at least 18 years old) with a backdrop of flowers and pleasure products at The Falcon restaurant, 10 Pacific Street, Newcastle East, on Sunday from 12 to 3pm.
"Coming from different industries and experiences, we connect and share a passion for supporting women and celebrating the energy within this," Cullen says. "It really is a beautiful moment when women support women and collaboratively create something beyond their expectations."
There is a small fee for the photo session. All proceeds go to Dress for Success.
The Dress for Success website says the organisation empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. The organisation recently opened a showroom in Broadmeadow.
"It was important to select an organisation that supported women. As we are proud small business owners ourselves, we want to help support women getting into the workforce so they can feel this sense of pride we feel," Cullen says.
This year the International Women's Day theme is "choose to challenge".
