Happy Lunar New Year! (Credit: Gaijin Entertainment)

For a lot of counties in East and Southeast Asia, the Lunar New Year isn't just about fireworks but is in fact an important holiday. War Thunder is joining in on the fun with an event and some cool activities. One of these is the chance to earn the "Gold Dragon" decal.

To obtain the decal, you need to play three battles from February 9 to February 12. You'll also need to keep these details in mind:

  • Must use a minimum of rank III.
  • The activity must not be below 70%.
  • You can complete the task in random battles with the exception of Enduring Confrontation missions, [Assault] mode and Helicopter PVE battles.
  • You can track your progress in the hangar.

They're Rolling In

Players should be happy to know that the T-69 II G is back for Golden Eagles and is even here to stay. This tank is a modification of the Type 69 MBT that's used by the Bangladesh Army. It uses a wide range of shells which are good for all scenarios. One of these is the DTB-1 time fuze shell which is really good when it comes to shooting down helicopters. With a good combination of ballistics and reload speed, there's no question that this one is perfect for the sniper role.

In addition to T-69 II G, two tanks are also available from February 9 to February 15. The first is the Soviet tank Т-62 №545. In particular, it's the version that was captured by the PLA when the battle for Damansky Island ended. It features good mobility along with good frontal armor. The tank also has a 115 mm gun which can fire HE, HEAT-FS and APFSDS rounds. Meanwhile, its two-plane stabilizer results in the T-69 II G being able to fire smoothly even while on the move.

The second one is the Type 69-IIa, which is another export version of the Type 69. This version was made specifically for the Iraqi Army. It features extra protection and a 100 mm gun from the Type 59. It also has a Type 44 AP round that can deal significant damage and is ideal when it comes to flanking and shooting enemies at the side. For who want to deal damage at longer distances, the tank has a handy Laser rangefinder.

War Thunder is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
