This month (June) is Pride Month, a month that sees celebrations across the country to celebrate and recognise the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and asexual community.
Pride Month falls every June due to the Stonewall Riots that took place in the US in 1969, marking this year a 50 year anniversary since gay rights activists fought back against police in New York, becoming a symbol of resistance to social and political discrimination.
This marked the beginning of annual celebrations to be held across the World in honour and recognition of the LGBT+ community.
Although London's Pride Parade isn't until 6th July, there are events all over the Nation leading up to the day that aim to raise awareness, provide an education and continue to peacefully protest acceptance.
