CeeDee Lamb is Cardinals’ pick in yet another mock draft

Mock drafts are all over the Internet this time of year, leading to speculation about what teams will do in the NFL draft in April. In a new mock draft from The Draft Network’s Jordan Reid, the Arizona Cardinals make a pick that has been projected many times already in the offseason.

Reid has the Cardinals taking Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb with the eighth overall pick in the draft.

CeeDee Lamb’s name will be near the top on many draft boards and rightfully so. He’s in arguably the strongest position group of the 2020 draft class. Lamb’s familiarity with the Arizona Cardinals’ scheme and quarterback Kyler Murray makes for an easy selection at the top of the draft. With Larry Fitzgerald on the tail end of his career, there’s a need for a true No. 1 wide receiver in the desert. Lamb provides that type of potential.

The picks who go before the Cardinals’ selection are fairly expected. Three quarterbacks go in the top six. Chase Young and Jeffrey Okudah are off the board. The Giants take an offensive lineman and the Panthers take defensive lineman Derrick Brown.

Arizona could go with their No. 1 receiver in this scenario, select versatile defender Isaiah Simmons or go with the second offensive or defensive lineman to be taken.

In the four picks that follow the Cardinals, two linemen, Simmons and defensive lineman Javin Kinlaw all are selected.

Given the scenario, would you prefer to see the Cardinals take Lamb, a lineman, Simmons or a player like Kinlaw?

This is a viable scenario for the draft in two months.
