Cedric Soares provides injury update as he waits for Arsenal debut after deadline day transfer

Arsenal full-back Cedric Soares has taken to social media to give an update on his recovery from an injury he picked up while playing for Southampton.

The Portugal international signed on a season long loan at the Emirates Stadium on deadline day, providing more defensive reinforcements in Mikel Arteta's squad.

However, the 28-year-old will have to wait a bit longer to make his Arsenal debut, having being forced from the field in the Saints' 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace in his last Premier League game.

Cedric is set to be on the sidelines for another couple of weeks after it was revealed that he suffered from ligament damage.

Mikel Arteta: We need to be ready for a battle

Arsenal take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon as they look to continue their unbeaten start to 2020 under Arteta.

The Gunners have drew their last three game, and will be looking for the full three points in order to make a late push for the top four positions in the Premier League.

They will have one more fan cheering them on for the game. Ahead of the match, Soares has taken to social media to send a good luck message to his teammates and to also give an update on the work he is doing to get back from injury.

"Have been spending the last couple of days working hard to come back ASAP. Good luck today in Burnley guys! I’ll be watching. #Arsenal #COYG #together #training."

Sores has made 16 Premier League appearances for Southampton this season, and the full-back could target the home game against after the winter break to make his Arsenal bow.
