Cedric's frustration as Arteta shoves Lacazette - Three things spotted in Arsenal training

It may be the international break, but Arsenal are still hard at work on the training ground at London Colney.

The last time the Premier League paused for players to go off and represent their countries the Gunners were bottom of the Premier League having failed to score a goal in their opening three matches.

Things have improved significantly since then though to the extent that Mikel Arteta has been crowned Premier League manager of the month following three straight wins in September.

In an attempt to ensure that his side are able to keep up the momentum they've recently built, the Spaniard has been focusing on the time he was with his players who weren't called up for international duty.

Thanks to a new video released on the Arsenal YouTube channel featuring 360 cameras and drone technology we've been able to see exactly what the Gunners have been up to this week.

Here are some of the things football.london noticed in the session.

Jack's back

It's not exactly brand new information at this point, after it was confirmed on Thursday the Jack Wilshere would be returning to Arsenal to train with the team, but seeing him stride onto the pitch at London Colney was very exciting.

Things have changed a lot since the England international was at the club, but plenty of his old teammates are still around.

The 29-year-old played with Alexandre Lacazette at the Emirates Stadium and was seen walking onto the field with Calum Chambers and Rob Holding.

Wilshere was thrown straight into the thick of the action taking part in El Rondos, a keepy uppie training drill as well as a full training match.

Cedric gets frustrated

It may only be training but the competitive edge is a big part of why the Arsenal squad have got to where they are today, and it was on full display at Colney.

Cedric Soares was one of the biggest demonstrators of his desire to win.

The Portuguese international hasn't played a minute of Premier League football since Takehiro Tomiyasu came in and took his place after transfer deadline day.

In his desire to impress on the training ground while the Japanese international is away, the 29-year-old could be seen visibly exasperated as he failed to score during the training match, despite being one-on-one against young goalkeeper James Hillson.

Arteta pushes Lacazette

football.london understands that Alexandre Lacazette will leave Arsenal at the end of this season when his contract with the club expires after failing to secure a move away in the summer just gone.

It might be understandable if this caused some friction between the player and his manager, but if the relationship on the training ground is anything to go by that isn't the case.

During an exercise in which the Gunners players were asked to keep the ball in the air on the way to scoring it into a bin as part of a race, the Frenchman was on the losing side, and as a forfeit was forced to do 20 press ups.

Despite being one of the elder members of the squad Lacazette was able to finish the set quicker than anyone else and got up quickly before receiving a playful shove from his manager as the team progressed to their next drill.

The 30-year-old is set to play a key role when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang heads off for the African Cup of Nations in January, and as one of the leaders in the dressing room, Arteta will want to keep him onside.
