Cedric Itten says he was blown away by Rangers ' "huge history" as he reveals a rave review from a friend sold him on moving to Ibrox.
The striker became Steven Gerrard 's seventh signing of the season on Tuesday evening, joining from St Gallen for an undisclosed fee.
The Swiss international joined Kemar Roofe in signing up at Rangers, and he's under no illusions about the size of club he's joined.
Itten told Rangers TV : "It's a big step for me to be here, it's a big honour to sign for such a big club.
"It's a very big club with a huge history and a lot of fans.
"It's just an amazing club.
"I think the support is amazing, I have a friend who was at the Old Firm and he said the Rangers fans are really crazy in a really positive way.
"I'm happy to be on the pitch and to feel this atmosphere.
"It's a big, big club. The club has a big name in Europe and won the championship 54 times.
"I think it's a huge club and it's a big pleasure for me to be here."
The 23-year-old has just finished the season in Switzerland, and says he's ready to go straight into the team for the upcoming Premiership games.
Asked what he could deliver he promised: "100 per cent passion, my whole heart for the team. And as a striker hopefully a lot of goals and assists!
"I feel really fit and I'm happy to be here and continue with the team."
Itten also admitted that the lure of working with Steven Gerrard was a big factor in deciding to move to Scotland.
The striker said: "It's a big opportunity for me, I think he's a big, big legend and I can learn a lot from him."
