Cedric Itten sends emotional message to Rangers as he insists '56 is coming home'

Outgoing Rangers striker Cedric Itten insists '56 is coming home' after he left the club to join Greuther Furth on loan.

And he thanked fans for all their support and reckons it's just a 'see you soon' rather than anything else and hopes he will be back at Ibrox.

Itten has struggled for game time at Rangers this season and made most of his appearances from the bench last season.

The signing of Fashion Sakala knocked him down the pecking order at Ibrox and he was allowed to head out on loan to Greuther Furth in the German Bundesliga.

Steven Gerrard brought him to the club last summer and he has played 41 games and scored six goals, including four against Motherwell.

And he took to Instagram to say: "Dear Rangers fans

"Looking back on great memories. What a year we have had together.

"I was always very proud to represent the badge and the people on the pitch.

"I wish you a lot of success for this season and I'm convinced 56 is coming home. Where it belongs. Thanks for everything and see you soon. Ced."
