Cedric Itten scores on first Greuther Furth game as Rangers striker makes mark in friendly

Swiss striker Cedric Itten started his Greuther Furth career in style as he netted his first goal for the club.

The Rangers loanee headed to Germany on deadline day and was straight into the team as they played a friendly during the international break.

They took on Bundesliga 2 leaders Jahn Regensburg and grabbed a 2-1 win.

And Itten got his side on level terms on the stroke of half time after they went a goal down early on.

He had nearly got an assist earlier in the game and was clearly impressing during his first 45 minutes for the club.

But he got on the end of a rebound to finish well to put his side level just before the ref blew for half time.

Itten was subbed at half time as the Bundesliga outfit made seven changes but it was a bright start to life in Germany for the frontman.

Itten was one of two Rangers players who left Ibrox on loan on deadline day, with Niko Katic also heading out on a temporary move.

The Croatian defender joined Hajduk Split on a season long loan with an option to buy, although there is a recall clause for Steven Gerrard's men in January.
