Cedric Itten completes Rangers move as Ibrox club announce second signing of the day

Rangers have completed the signing of 23-year-old Swiss striker Cedric Itten.

The frontman has joined the club on a four year deal from St Gallen.

Itten, who scored 19 times in 34 appearances in the Swiss Super League, started his career at Basel.

Rangers say he'll join up with his teammates when they return from their Europa League last-16 second leg clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

Itten is the second player to have signed for Rangers today after the club confirmed the arrival of Kemar Roofe this afternoon.

Former Leeds United and Anderlecht striker Roofe joined the club on a four year deal.

Steven Gerrard said of his arrival: "Kemar is recognised throughout Europe as an intelligent attacker with an eye for goal. I look forward to working with him and recognise his potential to further progress our starting XI.

"He has experienced the pressure and expectation at Leeds United and has played on the continent which will stand him in good stead for his time at Ibrox.”
