Rangers striker Cedric Itten admits moving to Glasgow has been his "biggest challenge" as he opens up on missing Euro 2020.
The Swiss striker joined the Premiership champions last summer after a fine goalscoring campaign for St Gallen.
But, competing with Alfredo Morelos, Jermain Defoe and Kemar Roofe, he found game time hard to come by.
Itten started only five league games for Rangers and both he and Celtic's Albian Ajeti were left out of the Switzerland squad for the Euros.
The 24-year-old last played for his country in October but a lack of game time for Steven Gerrard's squad scuppered his tournament dream.
And he's admitted it's been a challenge trying to settle into Glasgow during Covid times.
Itten said: "Of course it's a shame I will miss the Euros.
"But there's nothing I can do to change it and I have to try and draw positives from it.
"I always try to do that...even in the last few months.
"I'll be watching the Euros of course.
"Moving to Glasgow has definitely been the biggest challenge I have faced so far.
"Everything has been really complicated because it's obviously an exceptional situation.
"But we have managed to move into a home under these difficult conditions and next year should be easier for me."
