All eyes are on Paris Gentle Mates, who enter Stage 2 riding a wave of confidence after shocking the Call of Duty scene by taking down reigning world champions OpTic Texas to win the Stage 1 Major in the organization’s debut season.
Holding onto that momentum won’t be easy for M8, though, with OpTic and the rest of the league hungry for redemption and eager to start stacking crucial points to secure a spot at CDL Champs this year.

CDL Stage 2 Major 2026 format
Unlike in Stage 1 Major where all teams participated in the Playoffs, competition in Stage 2 is fiercer. In the Qualifiers, teams clash in best-of-three matches under a single round robin format, with each series win granting 10 CDL Points. The top six teams advance straight to the Playoffs, while 7th to 10th seeds enter the Play-ins. The bottom two squads are eliminated.
The Play-in teams battle in best-of-five matches to determine the last two squads advancing to the Playoffs that feature a double elimination bracket. Matches in the Playoffs are best-of-five, except for the grand final, which is a best-of-seven showdown for the title. The champions are set to earn the $150,000 winners’ prize and 100 CDL Points.
The CDL Stage 2 Major Playoffs (as well as the Play-Ins) take place during DreamHack Birmingham at the bp pulse LIVE arena in London.
