CDC funding cuts put health programmes at risk

There are fears funding cuts to health agencies are putting the world at greater risk of disease outbreaks.

The US President Donald Trump's administration has proposed slashing the budget for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by 12 percent, which means the health protection agency's operations in almost 40 countries will be closed down.
