CCVA to host 2-day world poets’ meet from today

The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) will organise the seventh edition of the annual international multilingual virtual poets’ meet from Saturday.

An international multi-lingual poetry anthology Amaravati Poetic Prism 2021 would also be launched on the occasion.

President of the Gujarat Sahitya Akademi and recipient of Padma Shri award Vishnu Pandya would be the chief guest at the inaugural of the two-day event.

‘Vice-Chancellor of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad, T. Krishna Rao, Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages Shailendra Mohan, Director, Department of Language and Culture, Telangana, M. Hari Krishna, editor D. Vizai Bhaskar, CEO, MPRPL Sandeep Mandava, would be present at the inaugural session. Chairperson, Pleach India Foundation Y. Tejaswini and E. Sivanagi Reddy would coordinate the event.

Feminist writer and recipient of Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award Volga would be the chief guest at the valedictory session scheduled at 4 p.m. on April 10. Poets from 27 countries, including Albania, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States would participate in the two-day event, he said.
