CCTV shows thug smashing windows of Glasgow restaurants in violent rampage

A mindless thug was caught on CCTV smashing windows of Glasgow restaurants in Pollokshields.

Footage shows the vandal heading down St Andrews Road in the south side of the city, before throwing what appears to be a brick through the window of Spanish eatery Malaga Tapas.

The lout then continued his senseless rampage as he proceeds to smash the front of the nearby Pepe's Piri Piri.

The incident happened on Wednesday morning at around 7am and cops have launched a probe.

Richard Dickson, who posted the footage on Facebook, said: "Unfortunately at 7AM this morning someone smashed the Malaga Tapas window in Pollokshields.

"They also smashed Pepe’s just down the street.

"I have an idea of who I think this is but if anyone has any information on who done this please contact myself, Cristobal Gonzalez Cebrian or Antonio Gonzalez.

"A restaurant loved by the local community - poor to see this happen."

One shocked friend added: "Gutted for Cristobal, done loads of work for him over the years, such a nice guy and doesn’t deserve this."

Another said: "Jealous little rats! Hope you find them boys."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "At around 4.15pm on Wednesday, 3 February, police received a report of damage to the window of a restaurant in St Andrews Road, Pollokshields.

"Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2048 of Wednesday, 3 February, 2021."
