CCTV shows the moment masked robbers - one carrying a huge hunting knife - raided shop for booze and cash

A gang of masked robbers - one carrying a huge hunting-style knife - launched a terrifying raid at a convenience store.

CCTV footage of the robbery has been released by police.

The footage shows two men, both armed with knives, walk into the store at the junction of Moss Road and Davyhulme Road in Stretford, Trafford.

One of them points the long blade at an employee behind the counter.

The till is then opened and the robber helps himself to notes as the second raider steals what are believed to be cigarettes from a drawer and bottles of spirits from the shelves.

They are then joined by a third man, who is also wearing a mask over his face and was waiting outside.

Together they fill up carrier bags with goods before escaping.

No one was hurt in the raid at around 8.15pm on January 11, but police said workers were left 'in great shock'.

Details of the robbery have only just emerged.

Detectives said the employee behind the counter was threatened and told to open the till.

GMP added in a statement: "A third man then joined them before all three fled on foot.

"Police have released images of three men officers wan to speak to in relation to the incident."

Detective Constable Laura Floodgate said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the workers at the store who were left in great shock but thankfully they didn't suffer any injuries.

"The footage we have released shows men we want to speak to regarding this.

"If any members of the public recognise anything familiar regarding these men, or if anyone was close to the scene at the time of the incident and remembers three men acting suspiciously around the area, then we urge them to get in contact with us."
