CCTV shows man attack pub with five-foot pole after allegedly being kicked out

CCTV of a man smashing a pub’s windows, after allegedly being kicked out, has been released by police in an attempt to trace him.

In the footage, security guards can be seen entering the pub for cover as a man runs towards the building’s entrance with a large wooden pole.

Police reported that he then proceeded to strike the door’s glass panels with the 5ft long weapon, causing the pub’s windows to smash.

The man was allegedly asked to leave the premises of Bantam Cock Pub in Abington Square, Northampton before the incident, which occurred at around 1:30 in the morning, Sunday 21 February.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire police said: "The man was reportedly asked to leave the Bantam Cock Public House, Abington Square, Northampton, on Sunday, 21 February. "At around 1.30am he allegedly returned with a wooden pole and hit the glass panel on the front door causing windows to smash. The man then ran off."

Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact Northamptonshire police on 101. Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
