CCTV shows how council removed Edward Colston statue in 5 minutes

The statue of Edward Colston was removed by Bristol City Council early this morning without telling members of the public or the media when they were going to retrieve it beforehand.

However, CCTV from nearby reveals how exactly the council were able to retrieve the statue from the harbour and later transport it to a secure location.

The video shows how the council workers used the equipment to slowly lift the statue out of the waters and place it onto the side of the Harbour.

Once on the side of the Harbour, council workers slowly lowered the statue into a boat.

It was then sped away to a secure location.

It is destined to be put on display in a museum - although it has not yet been confirmed when this will happen or where it will be.
