CCTV shows arsonist torching TikTok family Smithys' car before setting his arm alight

This is the chilling moment an arsonist torches a car belonging to a family of TikTok influencers before setting his own arm alight.

Dad Nick Smith, 33, whose The Smithy Family account has more than 2.5million followers, shared the shocking CCTV footage last night.

Police are now investigating the incident that left Smith says left him, his wife and three young children "devastated".

The firebug was caught on camera stalking the Smithy family's driveway with a pal before hurling a makeshift Molotov cocktail into their Ford Mondeo at around 11pm.

In a video posted last night, dad-of-three Nick said the callous pair were armed with a "milk bottle full of accelerant".

And he urged anyone with information about the attackers - one of whom may have burn injuries to his arm - to come forward.

Nick said: "The level they have gone to to do this is unreal. We had to go through that ordeal.

"It can't happen again to someone else. Next time it could be someone that's died.

"So please, take a good look, give this a share - let's see if we can find these people."

Two hooded youths wearing face masks were picked up on CCTV prowling outside the home before last night's blaze.

One of them later jams open the back window of the vehicle with a crowbar while his twisted pal douses the back seats with a flammable liquid.

The halfwit then sets the car alight with himself inside before running up the road with his arm on fire.

Smith also shared footage from his daughter's bedroom, where he watched the blaze in horror.

Getting tearful, the dad said: "My girls were in this room but that don't matter to you, does it?

"One of you filmed it while the other done it. I don't think you realise the consequences."

The attack has left the car gutted and outside of the home charred. About 25 firefighters spent 90 minutes tackling the blaze at Smith's home in Welling, south-east London.

The London Fire Brigade told the BBC crews attended reports of a car alight and fire investigation dogs were used to "help identify any ignitable substances present".

The Met Police have confirmed they are treating the cause of the fire as suspected arson.
