
POLICE investigating the stabbing of a man who required surgery at the John Hunter Hospital have released CCTV footage as part of their probe.
A group of two women and three men entered a service station on The Entrance Road about 4am on Monday October 5.
Police said they began to argue with another customer, a 28-year-old man, before one of the men produced a knife and stabbed him.
He underwent surgery for his injuries and Tuggerah Lakes police began investigating.
On Monday detectives released footage of five people they believe can help them progress the investigation.
The two women are described as caucasian and aged in their 20s. One had blonde hair and the other brown hair. Both are wearing black in the footage.
One of the men is described as caucasian, in his early 20s and with tattoos on his left arm. The video shows him wearing dark clothing, a dark cap and red shoes.
A second is in his 20s with black hair and was wearing a striped shirt and jean, while a third had brown hair and was wearing a maroon jacket, black pants and white shoes.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
