CCTV released after theft of £70 left by NHS worker in Asda cash machine

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak with who they say could have information in connection with a theft after an NHS worker's money was stolen from an ATM outside an Asda supermarket.

The woman in her 40s withdrew £70 from outside the store on Ormskirk Road in Aintree on Wednesday, June 2, according to Liverpool Echo.

After making the transaction at around 10.25am the woman forgot to take the cash from the machine.

It is believed that a person behind her stole the cash.

Merseyside Police has issued a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to who could have information in connection with the theft.

Police have said stealing the money is "despicable" especially when the victim is a key worker.

Inspector James Halpin said: “The woman pictured may have vital information so if you know her, please come forward.

“For anyone to take advantage of such an understandable mistake is despicable, even more so when the victim is a key worker.

"Tell us what you know and we’ll do the rest.”
