CCTV released after money stolen from elderly man after withdrawing cash from Durham bank

Cash withdrawn by an elderly man was believed to have been stolen as the victim walked around Durham city centre.

Police officers investigating the theft have now released CCTV footage of a woman they want to speak to.

The victim withdrew a large amount of money from the Co-op bank on High Street in Durham on Tuesday November 12 at around 10.30am.

He left the bank and on his return at 11.15am, he noticed the cash was missing.

It is believed a thief removed the money while the victim was walking around the city centre.

Officers have now released an image of a woman they want to identify.

She is described as being of medium build, with dark hair and was wearing a dark coat and dark woollen hat.

If you recognise the woman in the CCTV or have any information, you can call Durham Constabulary on 101 quoting reference number 251 of November 13, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
