CCTV released after Metro ticket machines smashed with golf clubs

Ticket machines at a Metro station were smashed with golf clubs in an attack which will set Nexus back £2,000.

The criminal damage happened at 8.50pm on Monday, June 3, when the ticket machines were damaged at St James Metro Station in Newcastle city centre.

It was reported that the touch screens had been damaged with golf clubs, which will cost around £2,000 to repair.

Two machines were left unusable after the touch screens were left with a number of cracks.

Police have now released images of three people – two girls and a boy - they wish to trace and speak to about what happened.

They were in the station at the time and could assist officers.

The group, or anyone who knows them, are encouraged to contact police on 101 quoting crime number 070567B/19.
