CCTV released after man threatened taxi driver with metal bar and damaged his car

A taxi driver was threatened with a metal bar by a man who damaged his car.

The wing mirror was damaged by the man in the Stokes Croft area between 12.35-12.45am on Monday (March 2).

The taxi driver was picking up a group of women when the unknown man wandered over and repeatedly tried to get into the vehicle before eventually damaging it.

The man then walked into a nearby convenience store, followed by the victim. He then picked up a metal bar, made threats against the victim and tried to snatch their mobile phone.

No damage was caused and the driver managed to keep hold of the phone.

As police were called, the man fled the scene.

Police would like to speak to a man who has been captured on CCTV in connection to the incident.
