CCTV released after man stabbed in the chest in Nottingham city centre

Police have released images of three people they would like to speak to after a man suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing in Nottingham city centre.

Officers were called to a takeaway in Mansfield Road following reports a victim had walked into the venue and collapsed in the early hours of Saturday, September 11.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He remains in hospital.

CCTV footage has now been released of three people police want to speak to.

Detective Inspector Daniel Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty incident which left the victim with life-threatening stab wounds to his chest.

“We take knife crime extremely seriously and are committed to stopping those that carry knives and offensive weapons.

“We believe the three people pictured in these images may be able to help us with our enquires and would like to speak with anyone who recognises any of them.”

Anyone who was in this area around the time of the incident and saw what happened or has any CCTV, dash-cam, or mobile phone footage is also asked to contact police.

Residents spoke of their concern after the incident as a cordon remained in place for much of September 11.

Robert Dawes, 65, of Coalville Street, off Mansfield Road, said at the time: "It's not very good, you never know what can happen.

"It seems a common occurrence."

Anyone who may have information about the incident is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 73 of 11 September 2021.
