CCTV released after man seriously assaulted and hit with bottle in Wallsend pub

CCTV images of two men have been released after a serious assault in a Wallsend pub.

In the early hours of October 17, a man was assaulted inside the Duke of York pub on Wallsend High Street.

The victim, aged 34, was approached by two men who punched him in the head then struck him with a bottle as he lay on the floor.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his to his head, eye and ankle.

Northumbria Police immediately launched an investigation and officers have already reviewed CCTV and spoken to a number of witnesses.

But they have now released images of two men who were in the area at the time, and may have information which can assist police.

The men, or anyone who knows them is asked to get in touch immediately by using the Tell us Something page on the force's website, or calling 101 quoting log NP-20211019-1034.
