CCTV released after dog walker, 70, assaulted by angry owner in Wallsend following pets' fight

A elderly dog walker suffered a head injury after an irate pet owner assaulted him.

On Sunday October 6 at around 4.15pm, two dogs being taken on walks by their owners started fighting on Valley Gardens, Wallsend.

One of the dog owners then assaulted the other, a 70-year-old man, before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained an injury to his head and was left very shaken.

A police investigation is ongoing and police have released an image of a man they want to trace.

He was in the area at the time of the incident and could assist police with their investigation.

The man, or anyone who knows his identity, should contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting crime reference 128025W/19.
