CCTV released after attack in Newcastle bar left victim needing stitches

A police investigation is under way after an attack in a Newcastle bar which left a man needing stitches to his mouth.

At around 1am on July 12, a 24-year-old man had been inside Switch on Scotswood Road when he was approached by an unknown man who then struck him in the face.

The attacker then fled the scene leaving the victim with an injury to his lip that was bleeding and required stitches.

Northumbria Police have now released two images of a group of men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "It is believed they were in the area at the time of the assault and might have information which can assist the investigation.

"The men, or anyone who knows them is asked to contact police as soon as possible using the Tell us Something page on our website, quoting crime number 075607M/21."
