CCTV pictures released of man wanted in connection with train station fire

Police have launched an appeal to trace a man in connection with a fire at Thorntonhall train station.

A platform bin and the fencing of a nearby home caught fire in the incident which happened between 7:30pm and 8pm on Saturday May 29.

Officers believe that the man shown in the images, who was in the area at the time, may have information that can assist them with their investigation and would urge him or any members of the public who recognise him to contact British Transport Police.

The male is described as between mid-20s to early-30s, approximately average height, medium build, shaven head, wearing a black Nike hooded zipper with a red Nike log, black cargo bottoms, a pair of black Adidas trainers and a black Adidas backpack.

British Transport Police can be contacted on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2100038449.

Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
