CCTV of last sighting of missing rugby and X Factor star Levi Davis seen leaving pub

CCTV footage has emerged showing missing rugby player Levi Davis leaving a pub in Barcelona.

The athlete was last heard from over a week ago, after he travelled to Ibiza with a friend. But he then left on a boat to Barcelona by himself on October 29, it has been claimed.

The CCTV clip, obtained by the Mirror, showed the 24-year-old winger exiting the Old Irish Pub on the popular Spanish street Rambla dels Caputxins on that same day, at 10.05pm.

In the video, Levi can be seen carrying a small black rucksack, while wearing a white short-sleeved t-shirt, black trousers, and black and white trainers.

Friends and family launched a social media appeal for him to return, as they said he struggled with his mental health and coming out as bisexual.

Levi’s sister Candeece Balfour, 23, spoke emotionally about his disappearance and said that she "just wants him to come home".

Candeece told Mirror.co.uk: “I just want to tell him that I love him. I want to remind him and if anything, he knows that my mum of all people is the person he can go to.

“I just want him to come home and any support he needs, we can be there.”

Candeece became aware he was missing on Sunday, after a friend sent her a social media link, that she believed was a scam at the time.

She said: “I only found out yesterday morning. I was worried. Definitely. I think it's just more upsetting because of how well he's done in life.

“My friend actually sent me a post saying, ‘isn't this your brother?’ I thought it was a scam. At first I didn't think it was real.

“She basically has a friend who's in Milton Keynes, who also does rugby and happens to know him. I messaged him, he sent me the poster and then obviously I saw the link to Bath club and all this Twitter stuff going on.”

It was claimed that Levi left Ibiza without his clothes or cash, which has left his family even more concerned.

Candeece said: “He was basically in Ibiza with a friend and he left all his stuff and he didn't go back.

“That's what's even more concerning, because why would you not come back for your clothes?

“All the information we’re getting, it’s just scary. So I’m not really as positive as we should be. It’s been a week.”

Levi, who is currently playing for Worthing Raiders in the National League 2 South, started his career in 2017 at Bath before joining Ealing Trailfinders in 2020, initially on loan.

Levi made eight appearances for Bath Rugby club between 2017 to 2020 before moving to Worthing RFC.

His former club took to Twitter and shared an appeal for him to be found asking for others to spread the word on social media.

He became the first professional rugby union player to come out as bisexual in 2020. He expressed how he had experienced depression and anxiety before he revealed his sexuality.

And In 2019, the sports star performed on X Factor: Celebrity with fellow rugby stars Ben Foden and Thom Evans as Try Star.

Close friend and agent - former England rugby player Tom Varndell has also been appealing to help find Levi and plans to go to Barcelona to find him.

He had last spoken to Levi on October 28 when they exchanged text messages about admin-related issues.

Tom said: “He was just wondering when his next payment was coming in. And I just confirmed that it'd be paid at the end of the month in the payroll.

“Everyone is completely in the dark over this. Like everyone's just trying to piece together bits of information coming through slowly.

“I know that a GoFundMe page is going to be set up so family members can go over.

“I'm potentially gonna go over to Barcelona as well to see if we can locate him and find out, and track his whereabouts using street CCTV."

Tom added that Levi had struggled with his mental health, and they had spoken every day for a period.

He said: "We played against each other in around the same sort of circles and then I've gone to sort of doing sports agency.

"Levi has definitely struggled with mental health stuff. My focus for Levi has been to keep him on the straight and narrow in terms of rugby career and helping support him the best I can - not only as an agent, but as a friend as well.

"There was a period when we were talking every day. Levi will just call and we'll just chat about bits and pieces."

But Tom was taken by surprise when Levi's mother told him that he had gone to Ibiza.

Tom said: "His mum called me on the Friday and said, 'have you heard from Levi', and I said, 'no, I haven't'. I was completely unaware he went to Ibiza.

"I spoke to the guy who was staying with him in Ibiza, who was obviously very concerned.

"I reached out to him after his mum sent me the number, and he explained that he basically just left the apartment and had gone on a boat to Barcelona.

"Right now, him disappearing is sending massive alarm bells.

"I think it was because somebody else had just gone away for a few days, it probably wouldn't have been such a big issue.

"But because he's not reached out to anyone since the 29th of October, I’m becoming very, very worried.

"I've had about 20 to 30 people who have all said they spoke to Levi in some capacity, whether it's on the phone via social media, and then there's no one that said anything after that point. So that's what's very concerning for me.

Some of the stuff that has been said before has been said is worrying that you don't know like, has he got off to the beach? There's something more going on here."

The family is awaiting updates from the Spanish police as the search to find the talented player continues.
