CCTV images released after staff member assaulted at petrol station in Newcastle

CCTV images have been released after a staff member was assaulted at a petrol station in Newcastle.

Police were called after reports of the attack at the BP garage on Great North Road, Gosforth, at just before midnight on September 14.

It was reported that a woman had entered a garage and attempted to steal items before putting them in her handbag.

When she was confronted by the staff member the woman hit them in the face.

Officers from Northumbria Police are now hoping to trace the man and woman pictured as part of the investigation.

They were believed to have been in the area at the time and could have valuable information which would assist.

The man and woman, or anyone who recognises them, are asked to call 101 quoting FWIN 1305 140920.

Anyone with information about the incident can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
