CCTV images released after shop worker racially abused

CCTV images were released after a shop worker was racially abused in Widnes.

It happened at a convenience store on Lower Appleton Road at around 1pm on Saturday 2 May.

Officers appealed for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images or knows who he is to get in touch.

They believe he can assist with their investigation into the racially aggravated public order offence.

Detective Inspector Ian Whiley, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: "We are determined to establish who racially abused the shop worker and make them face the consequences of their actions.

"We believe that the man in the CCTV images will be able to help us in that regard.

"I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch."

If you think you recognise the man or know who he is, please contact Widnes Police Station on 101, quoting IML 695632.

Alternatively, you can give the details here or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
