CCTV images of two men released by police investigating serious assault in city centre

An appeal has been launched to trace two men who could be able to help an investigation into a serious assault in the city centre.

CCTV images of the pair has been released by detectives following the incident in the Howard Street area around 10.45pm on February 27.

A 26-year-old man was attacked and sustained a head injured. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police are keen to speak to two men who they believe may be able to assist with enquiries.

The first man is described as white, slim build aged between 20-30 years. He is pictured wearing a black puffa jacket, trousers and baseball cap, with a white, grey and navy blue t-shirt. He was also walking a black and white dog.

The second man is described as white, slim build and aged between 20 – 30 years. He is pictured wearing a black baseball cap with white detail, a black scarf, a grey-coloured jacket and black trousers.

Detective Constable Vikki Reid of Glasgow CID said: “The men in the images are of interest to our ongoing enquiries and we would ask if you recognise any of the males to come forward.

"Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 4298 of 27 February, 2020, or report this anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
