An investigation is under way after two attempted burglaries in Gateshead.
Police received a report of a man acting suspiciously in the Redgrave Close area of the town at around 4.30pm on May 10.
It was reported that between 3pm and 3.30pm a man had tried to access two properties in the area, but had then left soon after realising the doors were locked.
Nothing was taken from either address but police have launched an investigation and have now identified a man who they would like to trace.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "He was seen in the area at the time of the offences and could have information that can assist detectives with the investigation.
"The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 769 100521."
