CCTV image released after 'racist abuse' in Nottingham city centre

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with an alleged instance of racist abuse in Nottingham city centre.

A man was reportedly made the subject of racist slurs and verbal abuse whilst walking on Milton Street at around 10.05pm on Monday August 16.

The suspect is then reported to have boarded a bus following the incident.

Officers believe that the man pictured could have information which may help them with the investigation.

PC Phoebe Lau, from Nottinghamshire Police, is investigating and said: “We are very keen to trace the man in the pictures as we believe he could help us with our investigation into this incident.

“Hate-based abuse has no place in our society and such behaviour is completely unacceptable. We take reports of anyone being targeted very seriously and will thoroughly investigate where this is the case.

“We would urge anyone who recognises the man, who saw the incident or has any information to get in touch with us on 101, quoting incident 852 of 16 August 2021.”
