CCTV footage shows woman putting twelve pack of beer down her skirt during shoplifting spree

CCTV footage shows a man and a woman seemingly working together to steal from a post office in Bury.

Around £150 worth of stock was reported as stolen from the post office in Dumers Lane, Radcliffe, on Thursday evening.

In the video, a man in a flat cap is seen passing a woman, wearing a headscarf, items from the shelves. The woman then appears to put a box under her clothing before walking away.

Among the items stolen include alcohol, bread, and chocolate.

The manager of the post office said: "It looks like she was wearing something that could hold a lot of stuff. She actually managed to stuff a 12-pack of beer down her skirt.

"At the time, my staff didn't even realise until after it was done because of the way they did it.

"They put a lot of stuff down her skirt but they also brought around £90 worth of goods to the till.

"When it came to paying, the woman left the store to go sit in the car and he said that he'd left his wallet in there.

"They left the bag of shopping that they were due to pay for and got away with everything else."

The manager claimed that police have told her that they wouldn't be able to do anything due to the current situation.

She added: "It turns out that other shops in the area have also complained of robberies and after seeing the CCTV, they're sure it is the same culprits.

"Despite passing the CCTV on to police, getting the car registration number and actually finding out where they live, the police can't do anything.

"They told me they are only looking at life-threatening crimes."

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 8.30pm on Thursday 2nd April, police received reports of an earlier robbery at a business premises on Dumers Lane, Radcliffe."
