Police have released footage of a high value mountain bike being stolen from outside a school in Gateshead.
An investigation is under way to track down the suspect.
Just after 3pm on Tuesday, July 17, the high value Trek Mountain Bike was stolen from outside Thorp Academy in Ryton.
The bike had been secured outside of the school when it was taken.
Enquiries have been ongoing and now officers have decided to release the footage in the hope that the public can help.
PC Andy Hyde , of the Gateshead West Neighbourhood Policing Team, has called on the man to come forward.
He said: “This was a high value bicycle that was well-used by the victim and they are devastated by the theft.
“It has been secured outside the school when someone has entered the school grounds and taken it.
“This has been quite a brazen theft and we need to trace the person in the footage to get their account.
“If you are the person in this footage, or if you know who he is, then please pick up the phone and contact police.”
